China finishes one-two in AYG table tennis boy's singles

SINGAPORE, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Yin Hang of China defeated his teammate Cheng Jingi 4-1 to claim the title of the boy's singles here on Monday at the 2009 Asian Youth Games (AYG).

Koki Niwa of Japan finished joint third with South Korea's Kim Dong-Hyun.

Yin led all the way to the win the final victory over Cheng 11-9,11-5, 2-11, 11-9 and 13-11.

"It's a welcome victory," said the 14-year-old Yin, "though it is not an easy one for me. I felt nerve from the beginning of the final, but I managed to calm myself down and played the game in my style."

"The gold medal is a good reward to my hard works, and that's it. There is a long way to go for me to be a good player," said Yin who began playing table tennis at six years old.

Early on Monday, Yin, together with teammates Cheng, Chen Meng and Gu Yuting, won the mixed team event title to finish the clean sweep for China in the table tennis in AYG.
