River Plate's coach keeps his charge

BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Coach of Argentine soccer club River Plate, Nestor Gorosito said on Tuesday that he will continue in his charge despite the strong rumors about club's directives requesting his resignation due to the bad results.

"I never thought on resigning," Gorosito said referring to the rumors about the directives dissatisfaction with his work, which started on Jan. 5, this year.

Gorosito said that "God did not have unanimity, of course I will not get it ... it is the beginning of a difficult term" after have lost 1-2 against Lanus at the South American Cup and 0-2 against Banfield at the local Apertura tournament.

During a press conference after the training, Gorosito said that he trusts on "the support from the directives" and he requested "to be calmed".

"My work is to come, train and get the biggest advantage possible from the players we have," Gorosito said and added that on Sunday in the match against Chacarita "we have to win but not for me, but because this is River and River has to win always."

According to local press, many directives demanded River's president Jose Maria Aguilar to request Gorosito's resignation due to the bad results and because some players also disagree with his work.

During the last local Clausura tournament, River was placed in the eighth place with 27 points, 13 points far from Velez, the champion of the tournament, while in the Libertadores Cup the club was out in the groups phase.
