MEXICO CITY, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Top Mexican soccer team Toluca won over league rival Santos Laguna on Sunday, scoring a 3-0 victory at home that also took it to the second place overall in the standings.
The goals all came in the first half, and Toluca, nicknamed the Diablos Rojos (Red Devils), was so confident after the first half that it sent on substitutes.
Antonio Naelson opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a strong shot after beating two defenders to enter the area. In the 21st minute, Carlos Esquivel made it double with a shot from the right.
The third goal came from Nestor Calderon at the 29th minute.
