Nigeria pledges easy immigration service during U-17 World Cup

LAGOS, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Nigerian Minister of Interior Shettima Mustapha has assured the Local Organizing Committee (LOC)of easy and unhindered immigration service to visitors during the FIFA U-17 World Cup event.

The minister gave the assurance while receiving a delegation inAbuja of the protocol sub-committee of the LOC led by its head, Mainasara Illo.

He said the Nigerian federal government was ready to assist the LOC in its requests towards organizing a hitch-free tournament between October and November this year.

Earlier, Illo, had earlier sought the minister's assistance in the areas of visas for visitors to the tournament, especially those from the countries where Nigeria does not have embassies.

He said the LOC of the FIFA U-17 World Cup continues in a better note towards the countdown to the tournament.
