Everton agree to sell Lescott

LONDON, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- English Premier League club Everton on Sunday agreed to sell their defender Joleon Lescott to league rivals Manchester City.

"Manchester City can confirm that agreement has been reached with Everton for the transfer of Joleon Lescott," City said on their website.

"The move is subject to the player agreeing personal terms and passing a medical."

The England international, who handed in a transfer request after two attempts by City to sign him were rejected by Everton, is expected to undergo a medical on Monday.

Everton manager David Moyes has previously said Lescott's attitude over his desire to leave had damaged team spirit and that the club had to sell him.
