MU cancels football match with Indonesian team

JAKARTA, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The Manchester United, a prominent English football team, confirmed its cancellation over soccer match with Indonesian team following two bomb blasts that had wrecked parts of two hotels, J.W. Marriot Hotel and Ritz Carlton Hotel, and caused casualties, in South Jakarta, the private TV station Metro TV quoted an MU official who spoke from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday.

Previously, Andi Darussalam, the manager of Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), said that his team has been staying in the J.W. Marriot Hotel since Thursday while the MU was scheduled to stay in the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

"All of our team members are safe," Andi said.

Initially, the MU team would match with the Indonesian All Stars team on July 20 as part of its Asian tour.
